Man's Blackwork Shirt

Renaissance blackwork shirt in fine white portofino linen. It's patterned and constructed exactly like the plain shirt. I was very careful not to do any experimenting with this version! The silk blackwork was worked onto waste canvas, which was basted to the linen. The design is from Beginner's Guide to Blackwork, by Lesley Wilkins. I mirrored the pattern to get a wider version on the collar. For the record, I think each acorn motif took me about one hour. Shirt ties are made of the same silk. I haven't been able to get a decent picture of Aaron wearing it. But for now, here's an in-progress picture.
