December 2017 – April 2018
An Italian peasant’s partlet, after Campi’s The Fruit Seller. In 3.5oz linen, it’s a modified version of my Flemish partlet pattern. A wide ruffle cut from the linen’s selvage is stroke gathered to the neckband. And the neckband is handsewn to the partlet. A running stitch finishes all the edges. Narrow darts are shown in Patterns of Fashion 4 on a variety of linen garments. So as an experiment, I added two 1/8″ neck darts, one on either side of center back.
