Laughing Moon #115, Regency and Romantic Era Corset.
I tried out these short stays initially in 2016. The pattern was extremely easy to fit – the detailed instructions worked perfectly. And it was a good test garment . But the fabric I used was way too wimpy (cotton sateen with a broadcloth lining). This coutil version is so much better. Cable ties are spread throughout, 1/4″ cotton twill tape is used for lacing, and 1/2″ steel bones support either side of the center front. I made a point of removing a couple inches from the shoulder straps in order to have a lacing gap. Hopefully this will prevent the straps from showing under the dress.
