Yellow Linen Short Gown

May 2009

A short gown ensemble from JP Ryan’s “Basic Six Piece Wardrobe.” This was originally made for a hot-weather event and coordinates with Aaron’s pirate. Wearing stays does not allow for much cooling, but I still made the outfit as lightweight as possible. The short gown is in a pale yellow handkerchief linen, lined in voile, and the skirt is a pastel blue linen/rayon blend. It’s accessorized with a batiste neckerchief, a fine linen apron, and Fugawee shoes. I also added a blue silk ribbon to my 18th Century round-eared cap.
