June – August 2008
My first successful 20th Century costume piece. It’s the Folkwear pattern #226, Princess Slip. A nice frilly undergarment to be worn with Edwardian and 1910s costumes.
I made it in off-white cotton lawn. Crocheted-style lace threaded with a cream silk ribbon draws up the neckline. Shell buttons close the back placket. French seams throughout. The ruffle is finished with a white cotton ribbon, and I added three tucks for a tiny bit of extra body.
This was my first time using a Folkwear pattern, and I will definitely be trying out more of their stuff in the future.
