Vintage Aprons

Feedsack Apron (August 2010)
Decades of Style pattern #4001, 1940’s Apron. Made up in reproduction 1930s feedsack cotton, with bias binding. The heart-shaped pocket is barely discernable, but it’s there. (Next time I’ll bind it instead). This was a really fun weekend project.

Ducks (October 2010)
Decades of Style pattern #2802, 1928 Bias Cut Apron. Made in reproduction 1930s cotton with bias binding. This pattern went together a little faster than the 1940s apron. It closed fine with a button so I eliminated the ties.

Red floral Apron (November 2010)
Decades of Style’s 1940’s Apron in cotton calico.
I managed, once again, to avoid binding the heart-shaped pocket. This time I just replaced it with the piece from the 20s pattern.

Blue Bears Apron (May 2011)
I may end up with a rainbow collection of these. It’s difficult to resist picking up a yard of half-off cotton when it has bears, bunnies and balloons. See cutsieness here in more detail.

Vintage Cowboys Apron (September – October 2016)
The 40s pattern again, made from a length of leftover quilting cotton. I didn’t want to break up the fabulous print with pockets, but wasn’t left with the correct scraps to pattern-match. So decided to skip them.
